Lafayette, Colorado Anxiety Therapist
Hi, I’m Taylor. I help people heal attachment wounds, integrate childhood trauma and step into a deeper sense of ease and vitality. I view the therapeutic relationship as an opportunity to be part of your village of care and to create a secure relationship that will serve as the backdrop for deeper work.
My primary modality with individuals is AEDP, a proven experiential, deeply relational, attachment-based model for trauma recovery. I work slowly, intentionally and in partnership with the wisdom of your body. Together, we will bring our attention to the present moment experience unfolding in your nervous system and gently meet what arises.
The patterns you fall into are signs of what is right with you, of your resilience and strength. I honor the reasons they came to be while making room for your nervous system to step out of the past and into the present. Who would you dare to be if you could dream big? Let’s find out.
FAQ’s

Trauma is not just what happens to you, but about what happens inside of you as a result of distressing experiences. Trauma can be the result of a singular event or the result of prolonged, repeated exposure to traumatic experiences, such as ongoing neglect, abuse or living in violent or unsafe environments.
When these experiences overwhelm our body’s capacity to process them in the moment, they get stuck in our nervous systems and play out in situations and relationships that remind us of the original trauma. It can show up in a variety of ways, including: people pleasing, chronic hypervigilance and overthinking, persistent shame or guilt, anxiety, numbness, avoiding conflict etc. The development of these symptoms is a sign of your incredible capacity to survive and adapt, not a sign of weakness or failure.
-
AEDP is an experiential model that helps people transform overwhelming emotions associated with trauma. It uses the safety created in the relationship between the client and the therapist to facilitate corrective emotional and relational experiences, and as these experiences are processed and integrated, it mobilizes the neuroplasticity of our brains to create deep, lasting change.

Trauma-informed therapy honors the protective functions of people’s behaviors, rather than viewing them as innate character flaws. It gently invites you to come home to yourself, without pressure or shame, and experiment with new ways of being in relationship with yourself and others through creating enough safety for emotional risk taking and processing traumatic experiences to completion.
In trauma-informed therapy, we will explore the ways trauma has impacted your view of self, relationships and nervous system with curiosity and compassion.

I am considered an out of network mental health provider.
I am happy to provide a superbill for you to send to your insurance company for reimbursement. Please check with your insurance company about your out of network benefits, as many plans cover a portion of the session cost.
Why work with an out of network provider?
Working outside the bounds of insurance allows me to focus on what is best for you, not what is best for insurance companies. No required diagnoses, no surprise billing issues or lapses in care and no limitations to the number of sessions. I can fully protect your confidentiality without needing share diagnoses or treatment plans with insurance companies and the time that would otherwise be spent managing insurance claims gets reinvested directly back into focusing on your care.
