Hi, I’m Taylor. I grew up hiking, skiing, camping and fishing in Southcentral Alaska. My journey to the mental health field began in my experiences as a “gifted” student in a “high achieving” environment experiencing the toll of pressure to achieve, harsh self-criticism, perfectionism, burnout and depression.
After graduating from college, I was met with a deep sense of emptiness and dissatisfaction about my direction in life. I found myself longing to slow down, turn inwards and recalibrate with my own intuition. Like many, I inherited wounds from the generations that came before me and I felt and continue to feel deep meaning in breaking those cycles.
I think of effective therapy as shedding the layers that have helped us survive but presently shroud our core self. I believe this journey is sacred and humbling and that we need not be alone when we face our darkness. I am so honored to accompany my clients as they chart their own courses home.
Outside of session, I can be found nerding out on books, creative projects, video games and DnD or connecting with nature through hiking, skiing, fishing and gardening.
“Anything that’s human is mentionable, and anything that is mentionable can be more manageable. When we can talk about our feelings, they become less overwhelming, less upsetting, and less scary.”
